EPIC: The Story of God
Wednesday April 1
1 Kings 4-5
Solomon’s Wisdom
Summary:
Solomon’s wisdom is put into action and his kingdom became safe and prosperous. His father, David, waged war against several enemies. Under Solomon, the kingdom was at peace and there was no longer any enemy. During David’s reign, God told him that his son and future king (Solomon) would build a temple for the Lord. Solomon starts the building process by contacting King Hiram and enlisting his help to cut down trees. Solomon then conscripted 30 thousand men to do the work. He broke them into three shifts, each shift with 10 thousand men and each shift spending one month of work on the temple in Lebanon and two months at home.
Sample of Today's Reading:
1 Kings 4:29-30God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. Solomon’s wisdom was greater than all the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

Question of the Day:
David wanted to build the temple, but God had other plans and told him that his son (Solomon) would be the one to build it. Is there an area of your life where you are struggling because your timing is not God’s?
Prayer Focus:
Lord, help me to understand that your timing is always perfect.
