Kings 6-7
Construction of the Temple and Palace
Summary:
The temple took seven years to build. Chapters 6 and 7 detail the dimensions and materials used for the construction of the temple. Completed, the temple would be very large and be built with some of the best materials of the time. Chapter 7 mentions that Solomon’s palace took thirteen years to build and it includes detailed dimensions and materials used.

1 Kings 6:11-14“The word of the Lord came to Solomon: As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel. So Solomon built the temple and completed it.”

Questions of the Day:
Solomon spent seven years building the temple. He was intentional in every aspect of the building, knowing the building would be symbolic of the majesty of God. What can I do today to intentionally live for God?
